Baobab Alley, Camp Amoureux, and Palissandre Ouest

Part 1 of the Madagascar Trip began in Tana, some very exciting shopping  and then we flew to Morondava. We were met by Celestin and Soulo, our guide and driver for this leg of the trip. The first stop was Boabab Alley. Baobab trees grow in different areas in Africa and Australia, however the most spectacular species in in Madagascar, specifically on the west part of the island. With Claudie standing next to a tree, you can see just how enormous they are!  Some Baobab species produce a fruit. I'm not sure if the fruit tastes good because I've only seen it loaded with pectin and sugar in jam format. Baobab Alley brings in a lot of tourists, which means there are always villagers around, posing for pictures and asking for gifts.  Along with some of the regular zebu traffic (which means you have to pay attention to where you step!). I think it would take a minimum of six or seven people to join up hands to go around the...

These Baobab trees (found in the south-west of Madagascar) are so majestic, and huge, and incredible that they need no words to explain (urrr.....except to explain that they are so majestic, and huge, and incredible...that they need no words...)
