Elephants Up Close & Personal

If you're on Facebook or been following the blog since Nairobi, maybe you're sick of hearing about these elephants. They were one of the highlights of my month! It was only an hour...maybe an hour and a half, but I fell in love!! The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was created in his honour in 1977.  There are some wonderful stories from the Wildlife Trust  But many, many sad ones.  I'm not sure why I kept reading or why I KEEP reading about the sad stories.  Let's just stick to the happy ending ones.  National Geographic featured an article on the Wildlife Trust  And while I'm skeptical at times about the legitimacy of some charities....  I hope that this isn't the case for this one.  Because these elephants warm my heart.  And they made me smile.  Even though I could barely walk I was still so sore!  And even though they covered me in dirt and dust!  Maybe it's because I pretended to be an elephant for b...

Mt Kenya - Climb to 4500 m, Descend to 4200 m

I somehow forgot to post an entire day's worth of climbing! As a "practice" we were climbing to 4500 m and then back down. By now, you've read enough about climbing, so I'll just post the picture, and what I think I was thinking at the time. "My Camelpack is f*cking dripping all over me.
